If you want a lawn that is lush and green in the spring of 2020, it is essential that you get your turf aerated and seeded this fall!
The picture to the left shows the root system of the grass. For a healthy lawn the root system needs to be 3 to 4 inches down in the soil. This will make the blade of grass very strong and be able to stand up to Mother Nature in the heat of the summer.

Aeration Benefits
An aeration is the process through which cores of soil are removed and the plugs are usually 1 ½ – 3 inches. These plugs lay on top of the lawn and just wither away over a little bit of time. The benefits of aeration compared to the time and money one must invest to have a beautiful lawn are staggering. Aeration provides some of the most easily recognizable, and quickest results of any lawn service you can have done. Below is a list of just some of the benefits of Core Aeration:
- Water and Fertilizer can be used more efficiently by your lawn.
- Grass roots can grow deeper and healthier.
- Soil compaction is reduced.
- Improved lawn health.
- Improved lawn appearance.
What is Overseeding
Overseeding is the use of grass seed on your lawn in an abundance. When you have bare areas, fungus, disease or simply want to keep the lawn thick this can be an amazing process. When combined with aeration an overseeding can be even more effective! Sign up Today with our team and Save $50.00 when you prepay for your aeration and seeding service!
Speaking of grass seed Tall Fescue is the type most commonly used type of seed in our area. Tall Fescue is heat and drought resistant and tolerates some shade. If you have a heavily shaded area you would use a different type of fescue. You would use a Red and/or a Fine Fescue. Kentucky Blue is also another type of grass seed that is used in our area. While Kentucky Bluegrass might look good it is not ideal for lawns that are used or have traffic. Kentucky Bluegrass is also not heat and drought resistant. Tall Fescue has been genetically engineered to look like Kentucky Bluegrass over the last decade.
